Nancy O'Dell's initial position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. In Charleston O'Dell's stories about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases led to the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on DUI instances. Ms. O'Dell received recognition from her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year award for all media in South Carolina. After her time living in Charleston, O'Dell worked as a co-anchor for NBC's Miami Station WTVJ-TV and also as an investigative reporter. Then she joined Access Hollywood to work as a weekday and weekend correspondent. O'Dell, in addition to anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She was a reporter for events like The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammys, and The Golden Globe Awards. Alongside co-hosting the Pre-ShowArrivals in preparation for The Emmys & The Golden Globes. In addition, she hosted Miss America's Pageant as well as the Miss Universe Pageant.
